Bidders took part on the phone and online while staff at the auction house stayed two metres apart at all times.

The Bridge Street property is number 19 in a terrace and currently lets for £8,400 per annum.

It was among 159 listed and sold for £115,000, with investment required.

Director and auctioneer Kevin Gilbert said: “This investment is on The Level section of Dover town centre, close to many amenities including the Charlton Shopping Centre.

“It also has a back garden and though it does require investment its current rental income shows the potential.”

The next sale is listed as being on May 4, but in light of the situation with the coronavirus could change.

All interested parties are advised to check the Clive Emson website where all updates will be published.
