Remembering those who died on the Herald

Survivors and relatives and friends of those who died in the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster will be at St Mary's Church in Dover this Friday to remember the 193 crew members and passengers who died on board the ferry off Zeebrugge in March 1987.

During the service, which starts at 11am, the names of the victims will be read to the congregation.

The vicar, the Rev David Ridley, said a get-together would be held in the parish centre following the service, while the church will remain open from 10am to 4pm for those who wish to offer a silent prayer.
