Police cordon off Coombe Valley Road in Dover after assault

A teenager has been stabbed in the chest in Dover.

Police and the air ambulance were called at around 3.50pm yesterday after the 18-year-old woman was knifed at a home in MacDonald Road.

Officers sealed off nearby Coombe Valley Road for more than an hour while an investigation was carried out.

The woman was taken to a London hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.

A spokesman said: "Kent Police were called at 3.48pm on Tuesday, May 30, to a report that an 18-year-old woman had suffered a single stab wound to the chest.

"It was originally reported that the injury was sustained in Coombe Valley Road, Dover, although officers have since established that the incident actually happened at a private residential address in nearby MacDonald Road.

"Enquiries into the circumstances behind the incident are ongoing, including how the injury was sustained."

Coombe Valley Road had reopened by around 5pm.
