Buddy, the one-year-old Chihuahua-cross, has been found after escaping from his Deal home since this morning

A Deal mother has been reunited with her puppy after an extensive search.

Lisa Gordon, of Davis Avenue, appealed to the Mercury to assist by releasing the information about the family's beloved Chihuahua-cross, Buddy.

He belongs to her son Samuel Marsh, who lives in Davis Avenue with his mum.

He escaped from the back garden of his home at 7.30am and has been spotted in London Road and other parts of Deal.

He was found just before 1pm in Sholden fields by a couple who saw the Mercury's appeal.

Miss Gordon previously said: "My son is heartbroken.

"He is very upset we couldn't find him before he went to school. Buddy will be very scared and he is very skittish."

She thanked the Mercury and its readers for spreading the word.
