Lidl in Honeywood Parkway, Whitfield, Dover reopens after roof damaged during Storm Henk

A supermarket has now reopened after the roof was damaged by “adverse weather” during Storm Henk.

The Lidl store in Honeywood Parkway at Whitfield in Dover was temporarily closed yesterday afternoon when 80mph winds battered the county.

But thanks to “remedial works” taking place at the shop, the supermarket reopened as normal at 8am this morning.

It comes as Storm Henk caused chaos throughout Kent and an amber weather warning was in place from 10am to 8pm.

The Dartford Crossing bridge was shut as a result of the strong winds and reopened just after 10pm.

The UK’s rail network was also hit by flooding and power cuts, with many operators reporting ongoing issues for the morning commute.
