Southeastern confirms trains between Faversham and Dover Priory delayed after lorry strikes bridge at Kearsney

A lorry has crashed into a bridge near Kearsney station in Dover causing delays to Southeastern services.

The line between Faversham and Dover Priory is unable to be served until any damage to the bridge has been assessed by Network rail staff.

The incident happened at around 12.30pm today.

A spokesman for Southeastern said: "A skip lorry struck a bridge in Kearsney just outside the station. Currently service can not run over the bridge until it has been assessed by Network Rail.

"Staff are currently on their to the bridge."

Network Rail hopes to get the service, which will also mean no trains to Shepherdswell, back up and running again soon.
