Women cut free from car following crash with van at Abbey Road, Hougham

Firefighters have cut free two women trapped in a car following a crash with a van.

It happened at Abbey Road, Houghham, just after 3pm today (Tuesday).

The crews used hydraulic equipment to remove the roof of the car.

The victims were then brought into the care of paramedics and taken away by ambulance to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman Richard Airey said: “Ambulance crews in a car and two ambulances attended the scene.

“ Two patients, including a woman aged approximately in her 40s, were assessed and treated before being taken to hospital.”

Two fire engines, from the Dover and Folkestone stations, were called out and their crews were at the scene for an hour and a half
