US marching band to visit Dover

An American high school marching band is due to visit Dover on New Year’s Eve.

News of the event has been revealed by Mandie Sehmbi of Dover Carnival Association Limited who says she is very excited.

“I have received confirmation that the Pride of Arapahoe, the Warrior Marching Band from Centennial, Colorado, will be visiting Dover on Wednesday, December 31.

“I am currently liaising with Kent County Council for a road closure for the band to march from Market Square up through the precinct, down Ladywell onto Maison Dieu Road, then into Pencester and on to Pencester Gardens to perform a 20-minute slot.

“I have dreamt of this moment for so long, and I cannot contain my excitement.”

The Arapahoe High School has a unique relationship with the Arapaho Tribal Nation and the Warrior Marching Band has won prizes at competitions. They will be coming to Dover during a visit to London for the New Year’s Day parade.
