People are being asked for their views on the future of the former Connaught Barracks site.

A team from English Partnerships, the national regeneration agency behind the development of the land has this week launched the first stage of the public consultation.

The former barracks cover an area of 56 hectares, of which 12.5 hectares is suitable for development including large areas of open public space.

The district council, Dover Pride and English Heritage have joined together to create a programme designed to gather the views of as many Dover residents as possible to help determine exactly what will become of the site overlooking Dover Castle.

A special website has been created at connaughtbarracks where, in addition to finding out more about the site, people are being encouraged to let the team know what they would like to see in the development plans.
