Traffic at standstill after crash on A299 New Thanet Way between Whitstable and Faversham

Traffic was left at a standstill after a crash on the A299 New Thanet Way this morning.

Reports show there was an accident on the Londonbound side of the dual-carriageway between Whitstable and Faversham.

The crash happened between the turn-offs for Dargate and Hernhill, not long past a contraflow system in place to allow works to be carried out on the Chestfield Tunnel.

The road was said to be blocked, with traffic “stationary”.

Police have been asked for more information.
