Northfleet Technical College bus stolen and burnt out in Gravesend

Firefighters and police were called after a school bus was set alight.

Kent Fire and Rescue say they were called to reports of a vehicle fire near Wharf Road in Gravesend in the early hours of Monday April 15, but the bus was burned out by the time firefighters arrived.

The matter has since been referred to the police.

Passers-by on Monday morning reported seeing the Northfleet Technology College bus still smouldering on grassland by the Thames.

The school has been approached for a comment.

Kent Police confirmed they had received a report of an abandoned minibus, which was alight in Wharf Road at 3.26am on Monday.

They say the damaged vehicle has been reported as stolen and officers are conducting ongoing enquiries to establish the full circumstances.
