Anger as thieves target pre-school

BURGLARS have forced a pre-school to close temporarily following another raid on a children's nursery.

The Chatterbox pre-school in Chatham was the target of thieves who forced their way in through patio doors. They stole a television and video recorder as well as money collected from parents to pay for an outing.

Mother and fathers have had to keep their youngsters at home until the patio doors can be repaired to make the building safe for the tots.

Only last week yobs wreaked havoc at St Justus RC Church nursery in Strood after similar incidents elsewhere in Medway.

Joanne Topping, whose son Harry goes to the pre-school, said: "Of course we are very angry at what has happened. All the parents feel fed up with it. It is a lovely pre-school and the kids are upset that they can't go at the moment."
