A lorry carrying a load of bananas overturned today on an A289 roundabout.

A red Ford Fiesta was slightly damaged in the smash at 9.15am but neither driver suffered serious injury.

Strood fire fighters were called to the scene at the Frindsbury Hill roundabout, in Wainscott, but they left soon after.

There was no need to use their hydraulic cutting equipment.

Paramedics checked over both drivers for minor cuts and bruises while three police patrol cars cordoned off the Wainscott Road exit on the roundabout.
