Bearded 'knifeman' wanted by police

Police have released this e-fit of a bearded man wanted in connection with a knifepoint robbery in west Kent.

The incident took place at around 12.15pm on March 20 when a woman was returning to her parked car in Benenden.

The victim had been walking her dogs and was approached by a man in Hemstead Forest Car Park, Cranbrook Road.

He asked her for cash and when she refused the thief pulled out a small knife. The thief then demanded her jewellery.

Police said he made off in the Cranbrook direction with the victim's earrings and ring.

The woman was not hurt.

Officers hunting the robber have described their suspect as white with an unkempt gingerly red beard.

He wore a beanie hat pulled down over his head and a khaki jacket with a hood.
