Burglars escape with haul from golf club

Thieves stole £3,000 in equipment from a golf and leisure centre after smashing through the main gates.

The burglars broke into the main complex building of Great Chart Golf and Leisure on Tuesday night and stole clubs as well as archery and paintball equipment.

Club managers believe the crooks may have used a car to break through the gates and then kicked in the front door.

The break-in happened at the Bear’s Lane club just before 11.30pm.

Anyone with information should contact Ashford police on 01233 611055.
