Designer Daisy Partridge has had a little helping hand with a prestigious catwalk show - from top name Karen Millen.
A final year Fashion Design student at De Montfort University in Leicester, Daisy has been chosen to be among students from 18 top fashion colleges to showcase their work at the annual Graduate Fashion Week event at Earls Court on Tuesday June 9.
The event sees fashion industry experts pick out the next generation of designers.
It is renowned for launching the careers of some of the biggest names in fashion, including Stella McCartney and Julien Macdonald.
Daisy’s collection is inspired by German folk clothing and traditional needlework techniques. Her garments combine traditional and modern fabrics and emphasis is placed on hand embroidery.
Daisy, 21, from Maidstone, said: “My designs mix old and new, natural and synthetic fabrics and using hand craft techniques allows me to exercise control and precision.
“I am so pleased I have been selected for Graduate Fashion Week and I can’t wait to see my collection of the catwalk.”
Karen Millen, also from Maidstone, said: “It’s been a joy to participate in the selection for DMU’s catwalk show and to witness the enthusiasm and excitement emerge from a new generation of designers.”
