A FOREIGN student staying in Thanet has been attacked by a gang of youths. The 33-year-old man was walking along the clifftop promenade at Viking Bay, Broadstairs, with friends when they passed about 15 young men.

Police say the gang shouted and swore at the students, followed them and then punched the man in the face.

Any witnesses to the unprovoked attack are asked to telephone investigating officer Det Con Nick Borda on 01843 222035.

It is the third attack on foreign students in the district in recent weeks.
