Council defends plans for 7,000 homes in Tonbridge and Malling

Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council has dismissed criticism from campaigners about plans to build nearly 7,000 of homes in the area.

A draft of the plan, available to read online here, sparked a backlash among some about the loss of green spaces and the impact on roads.

But the authority argues there is simply not enough brownfield land to meet the growing demand for new homes.
