The Met Office is predicting further rain overnight for Kent with sunshine and showers setting in tomorrow.

There will be a few clearer spells developing but generally it will remain cloudy with winds falling light inland but remaining breezy towards the coast.

For the rest of the week, the weather looks similarly unsettled.

The weather forecaster says there will be more prolonged spells of rain at times, heavy in places.

This will turning increasingly breezy with strong winds likely on Friday.

Temperatures will be near average, but trending warmer with a minimum of 6 °C predicted.

It comes after a wetter and duller than average March, according to Met Office data.

Despite the rain, temperatures have been mild for the time of year with much of the country experiencing a warmer March than average, particularly in the south.

The forecaster said: “March will go down as a mild and wet month for many, according to provisional statistics.”

Full weather data for March will be released by the Met Office tomorrow (April 2).
