Debris on the carriageway held up traffic on the Thanet Way this afternoon.

It came from a blown lorry tyre and affected the London-bound cariageway just prior to the Whitstable turning.

The problem was reported to police at 3.30pm and traffic was held up while the debris was removed.

A broken-down vehcile added to delays.

The road was clear by 5pm.
