'Deliberate ignition' suspected after van blaze

CREWS from Thames-side were called to van on fire in a Kent village on Thursday night.

The Ford Transit van was "well alight" when the two pumps arrived in Round Street, Cobham, near Gravesend, at around 10pm.

Firefighters were at the scene for 45 minutes.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "The van was well alight when we arrived. There was no one inside the vehicle.

"We believe it may have been deliberate ignition."
