POLICE are looking for the owners of building and specialist equipment worth about £25,000 that has been discovered during a crime investigation.

It is believed the property, including £1,000 worth of shower fittings and cutting tools, may have gone missing from building sites and lock-ups all over the county.

More than 100 items of equipment are currently being stored by police in the Canterbury area and some has already been traced to addresses in the East Kent as well as North Kent following its recovery in the summer.

PC Shawn Galvin said: “We are hoping people will come forward with information, perhaps shops and delivery firms who have discovered items missing but may not have reported the losses to police.”

Included in the equipment are:

* £2,000 De Walt Radial arm saw

* £1,000 boxed Worcester combi boiler

* Two yellow McColloch 335 chainsaws

* Boxed De Walt saws, planes and accessories

* Four internal fire doors

· Five rolls of loft insultation

· Boxed new showers and fittings

During the same investigation police also recovered three mini motorcycles – a Chopper-style black mini moto, a black racing mini moto and a green racing mini moto.

Also found during the investigation were a set of trophies, a cricket shield with the name Felsons and a pool league trophy with Bluffs A on. There are believed to be connected to a wine bar in Dover that closed in 2000.

Anyone who thinks they might be able to identify the property as belonging to them is asked to contact PC Galvin on 01227 868266.
