Driver dies after Dargate crash

A driver died last night after the car he was driving hit the central reservation and a lamp post on the Thanet Way at Dargate.

The accident happened in the coast-bound carriageway shortly after 11pm and the victim was declared dead by paramedics at the scene.

He was driving a black Kia car and is believed to be from the local area but has not yet been formally identified.

The road was closed for an investigation by Kent Police serious collision specialists and re-opened at 4.20am.
