Michael West's first-half brace earned Ebbsfleet United a comfortable passage into next weekend's Blue Square Bet South play-off final on Sunday.

West took his tally in the tie to four, scoring twice in the space of seven minutes as the Fleet built on their already comfortable 4-1 first leg lead at sunny Stonebridge Road.

West tucked away the first goal after 27 minutes, converting Ricky Shakes' cross. He then doubled the lead with a superb 25-yard free-kick which flew past keeper Carl Pentney.

Man-of-the-match Giannoulis Fakinos, replacing the suspended Ashley Carew, caught the eye throughout and almost set up Shakes early on but his effort was parried by Pentney.

Fleet had to replace the injured Derek Duncan with Joe Howe at half-time. City kept pressing in the second half, pulling one back through Wayne Gray who got the better of Paul Lorraine to roll the ball past Daren Hawkes just after the hour mark.

Howe and fellow substitute Scott Ginty were prominent in the closing stages with Howe shooting just wide and Ginty setting up Tom Phipp for another effort which went off-target.
