Kent is on heightened flood alert again today as thousands of motorists start the return home after the Christmas break.

The Environment Agency has issued several warnings that rivers might flood in the county.

It comes as forecasters predict rain could lead to localised flooding because the ground is already saturated.

Motorists are being advised by the Highways Agency to take extra care on the roads.
