A family of six have been evicted from their home.

Housing association officers moved in on the property in Partridge Close, Broomfield, on Friday morning after what police said was “a catalogue of anti-social behaviour.”

No one was at the terraced house when they arrived. The doors and windows have now been boarded up.

The family moved into the Hyde Housing Association house five years ago. Two years ago there was a fire at the property

Next-door neighbour Donna Derrick, who moved in in August, 2006, with four children, said: “It has been a complete nightmare. They have terrorised this area.”

Chris Hennessy, who has lived in the close for seven years with wife Nicola and children Aimee, 17, and Michael, 15, said: “This is a good day for the community.

“Their behaviour brought the whole community down. We have had enough.”

Police spokesman Sally Smith said officers had been working with Hyde Housing to secure the eviction of the family since a court order giving them notice to leave was served on them on October 29.

“This followed a catalogue of complaints about anti-social behviour,” she added.
