Fire treated as suspicious

Police are looking into the cause of a car fire on the seafront.

It is thought the car was driven over the sea wall at Shellness Road, Leysdown, and set on fire in the early hours of today (Tuesday).

A fire crew from Eastchurch was called to the scene at about 1.15am and took about half an hour to deal with the blaze.

The car was 80 per cent damaged by the fire.

Police are trying to find its owner.

The fire is being treated as suspicious.
