Firefighters tackle bathroom blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called last night to a blaze which broke out in a bathroom at a house in Bretland Road at Rusthall, near Tunbridge Wells.

Crews arrived on the scene shortly before 6.30pm. No one was hurt and the firefighters managed to contain the fire and stop it from spreading.

But burst pipes meant some salvage work had to be carried out. Crews finally left the scene at about 8pm.

The cause of the fire was unclear and is now being investigated.

Earlier, at 4pm, a Tunbridge Wells crew joined two others from Crowborough, East Sussex, to deal with woodland on fire at Fairview Lane, near High Rocks, near Tunbridge Wells.
