Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler is keen to have another look at trialist Mammadu Cisse.

The attacking midfielder made a second half showing for the Gills in the Micky Dix benefit game at Folkestone on Monday night.

He was the pick of the trialists for Hessenthaler after also fielding Cypriot striker Nick Gontos and Australian Roberto Katsikas.

Nineteen-year-old Cisse - of African dissent - hails from the Paris Saint-Germain youth set-up in France.

"He showed some nice touches on a difficult pitch and so it’s quite an interesting one," said the Gills boss.

Hessenthaler could play him again next week as the Gills are hoping to arrange a practice game with West Ham on Tuesday.

The Gills boss said: "We are thinking about arranging another game after the Dagenham one (on Monday), just for the younger ones to get some minutes in, for the likes of Daren Hawkes and people like that.

"We need to keep their legs going because they could easily get called upon. There might be a possibility that we have a look again at the trialists next week."
