Balaclava-clad thieves targeted Harvester in Gravesend

Four men have been arrested after an attempted armed robbery at Harvester in Gravesend.

Two balaclava-clad thieves fled after threatening staff with what they believed was a gun.

Police were called to the Rochester Road restaurant at just after 9am on Monday.

The intruders had got in through the back of the building, while workers took in a delivery.

One threatened staff with what was thought to be a gun, and ordered the safe to be opened.

But they ran off empty-handed towards Lower Higham Road.

Now a 20-year-old man and a boy of 17, both from Gravesend, have been arrested along with and an 18-year-old Northfleet man on suspicion of attempted armed robbery. The trio have been released on police bail until December 12.

A 50-year-old man from Gravesend has also been arrested on suspicion of attempted armed robbery and bailed until November 16.
