It’s been a good Christmas for us and the three points against Crawley on Boxing Day were a great present.

The boys dug in and to come back from 1-0 down against the leaders was a fantastic effort.

We travel to Dagenham on Friday and they are picking up a bit so we need to be on our guard.

It will be a difficult game but if the Crawley result doesn’t give you belief to go into the new year, then nothing ever will. Hopefully, we can just keep extending our unbeaten run.

We have ended Crawley’s run and need to keep ours going. We had fantastic support from 1,300 Gillingham fans at Crawley and they made it quite an intimidating place.

It was a great effort and I am sure we will have another good following at Dagenham.

The game at Crawley was billed to be one of the top games of the day and that’s the way it turned out. We got the right result but it was a bit of a bad tempered affair.

There were a couple of sendings-off but not a massive amount of chances in the game. When we came out in the second half, they couldn’t live with us when we passed the ball.

They were two great goals from Jo Kuffour, who looked a livewire all game. Jo has great movement and gets into those positions and can finish.

Alongside him, Keds worked his socks off, against two physical centre halves and they gave a good account of themselves. At the other end, Garry Richards and Matt Lawrence did likewise at the heart of our defence.

I know Matty was at fault for the penalty but he saved us two points because he cleared one off the line late on.
