Gillingham have added West Ham midfielder Oliver Lee to their squad ahead of the trip to Port Vale.

The 20-year-old has been on trial with the Gills for the last two weeks,

Gills manager Andy Hessenthaler (pictured) was pleased to add the attack-minded midfielder to his squad.

He said: “He’s a threat going forward, he’s gets goal and he’s all action.”

Lee has previously spent two loan spells with fellow League 2 side Dagenham and is available after being told his future lies elsewhere by his current club West Ham.

Lee scored one of the goals in Gillingham’s reserve game against a Chelsea XI last week.

His youth loan runs until March 18, which means he will be available for the next eight games, including Saturday’s match at Port Vale.

Hessenthaler was also expected to make a decision on former Charlton defender Jonathan Fortune before the weekend. He has also been on trial.
