Manager Andy Hessenthaler issued Aldershot with a warning after star striker Cody McDonald finished the weekend without a goal again.

Gillingham travel to Aldershot on Tuesday desperate to end a run of three successive draws, and with a striker (pictured) keen to end an unfamiliar barren run.

McDonald, with 17 goals to his name, hasn’t scored in the last three, a run he hasn’t experienced since Gillingham’s upturn in fortunes, but Hessenthaler is backing him to find the net soon.

"He will come good again," said Hessenthaler. "He has had a bit of a lean spell but we know what he is capable of.

"I’m sure Aldershot may be a little concerned he hasn’t scored for a while.

"Opportunities on Saturday were limited. He got in a couple of times in the second half and he will probably say he should have done better."

Hessenthaler has named the same starting line-up for the last two games and could keep faith with the same players again.

"We’ll take stock on Monday and see what we’ve got," he said. "Whether there will be any changes again, I’m not sure because it was another good performance. It was a big effort on Saturday."
