Danny Jackman has agreed a new one year deal with Gillingham.

Last season’s player-of-the-year was out of contract this summer but has now committed for another season.

Jackman, 29, is in his second spell with the Gills and has clocked up over 150 appearances for the club.

Last season he was a key performer under the management of Andy Hessenthaler and ended the campaign with a string of awards.

He has signed on despite the Gills being manargless, with the club chairman Paul Scally and director of football Hessenthaler handling player matters.

By signing for the new season the Gills now have 20 senior professionals in the first team squad, with only the future of Barry Fuller to be decided.
