Gillingham striker Adam Birchall is back from a loan spell at Dartford while Robbie Findley returns to Nottingham Forest

Adam Birchall's return from a loan stint at Dartford has signalled the end of Robbie Findley’s stay with the Gills.

Birchall spent a month with the Blue Square Bet Premier high-flyers in a bid to regain full fitness after a season on the sidelines through injury.

His final appearance for the Darts was in their 2-0 televised league win over Mansfield on Friday night.

Birchall (pictured), who scored one goal during his Dartford spell, was back with the Gills squad at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

Gills boss Martin Allen said: "Adam has been at Dartford and did very well in their victory (on Friday) and our senior staff were there.

"I promised Adam we would watch him and I think we have seen him in just about every game (at Dartford). Now he will be back in our squad.

"Robbie was brought in to cover that position. We all gave him a round of applause (after Saturday’s game) for his contribution towards our efforts. He has been a great lad to have with us.

"Now Birchall is fit, Robbie will be going back to Forest."
