Girl hurt as car careers into field

AN 11-year-old girl was injured after a car carrying her and a baby left a country road and careered into into a field.

The incident happened while the car, also containing two adults, was being driven in Green Lane at Marden near Maidstone,

Kent Fire and Rescue, Kent Air Ambulance, paramedics and police all attended. Everyone in the car was taken to Maidstone Hospital.

The two adults and baby suffered only minor injuries but the 11-year-old girl was more seriously hurt. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police say no other vehicles were involved in the incident which happened on Sunday morning .
