A Medway glass collector and rap artist is among the contestants in this year’s series of Big Brother.

Cairon Austin Hill, 18, was born in south London and raised in America’s south but now lives in Medway and works at the Amadeus nightclub in Cuxton.

A Facebook group set up to win him votes already has nearly 2,000 members.

Ross Hutchins, business manager for Amadeus owner Aaron Stone, said: “We got a call from him last week saying he had to leave due to family problems but he was obviously taken in to hiding.”

Cairon isn’t the only contestant to have a link with Medway. Fellow housemate Siavash Sabbaghpour joined the University for the Creative Arts in Rochester in September 2005 as a fashion promotions student but dropped out after a year.
