FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house fire in West Malling, near Maidstone, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Pumps from Maidstone, Larkfield, Halling and Ashford attended the blaze in Police Station Road at around 12.20am.

The flames destroyed about 90 per cent of the roof, 50 per cent of the first floor and 25 per cent of the ground floor.

No other emergency services were called, and no members of the public were involved. The owners of the house were not hurt.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service do not believe the fire is suspicious.
