Hunt for swimming pool pervert

A PERVERT is being hunted by police after children at a leisure centre claim they saw a man taking photographs while they were getting changed.

Three girls - aged four, 12 and 14 - were getting changed at Splashes Leisure Pool in Bloors Lane, Rainham, after a swimming session. They were in one of the cubicles when they saw a camera slide underneath the partition.

A close friend of the family, who asked to be identified only as Anne, said the children were hysterical when they realised what was happening. She said: “They told me that when they saw this camera they screamed ‘pervert’ and ran down to reception.

“They thought they saw a man leaving the changing rooms, which are communal.”

Staff immediately searched the changing rooms but found no-one. They then searched customers’ belongings but nothing was found.

Medway Police were then informed.

A police spokesman said the information had been passed to the Special Investigation Unit which deals with paedophiles, homophobic attacks.
