Joe Denly has scored a century in Kent's first warm-up match of the summer.

Denly (pictured) hit 115 for Kent against Lancashire at Beckenham on the opening day of a two-day friendly match.

The Kent opener, who put on 136 for the first wicket with skipper Rob Key (56), struggled for form last summer and during the winter in Australia.

But Kent will take great heart from the start he has made to the campaign, along with the form of Key. Sam Northeast and Geraint Jones were both dismissed cheaply.

Kent were due to bat for 60 overs and bowl for 30 overs on the opening day with the roles reversed on day two.
