Kent junior doctors join national strike in protest over contracts

Kent's junior doctors have walked out for a third time in a row over new contracts.

Workers are joining colleagues across England in the protests, as the disagreement over pay and working hours rumbles on.

More than 5,000 non-emergency operations have been postponed, but medics are still providing emergency care.

The walk out came into effect at 8am, and will last for the next 48 hours - the longest strike so far.

It comes after the government announced last month that the controversial contract would be imposed.
