Kent's injury crisis has deepened with the news that seamer Matt Coles has sustained a foot injury which could rule him out for up to a month.

The 21-year-old suffered a stress-fracture of his left foot bowling in a Friends Life t20 game at Tunbridge Wells last week and an MRI scan confirmed the damage - which is expected to rule him out for between two and four weeks.

Coles (pictured) has already missed games this season after suffering a jarred knee and follows Martin van Jaarsveld (broken finger) into the Kent treatment room ahead of Friday's trip to Taunton to face Somerset in a t20 game.

Kent Director of Physiotherapy, Nimmo Reid, said: "Matt has had an MRI scan, confirming a stress reaction in the second metatarsal of his left foot.

"While this injury is obviously very frustrating for Matt, it has been picked up early and therefore he should be back in two to four weeks.

"During this time he will be working closely with Max Ganderton, Pete Kelly and I."

Kent are however set to include new overseas bowlers Wahab Riaz (Pakistan) and Charl Langeveldt (South Africa) for the trip to the West Country.
