Paul Farbrace says he is "quietly confident" Kent Spitfires can reach Friends Life t20 finals day for the fourth time on Saturday.

However, the director of cricket, pictured, is making no rash predictions about the outcome as Kent bid to beat Leicestershire Foxes at Grace Road and become the first side through to the showpiece occasion at Edgbaston on Saturday, August 27.

It’s only the second time the teams have met in the competition – Leicestershire winning the previous contest by nine wickets in 2006.

Farbrace said: "It’s a big game for us. We all felt we had a chance of getting through to this stage and came through a tough group. It’s one hell of an achievement and now we want to go one step further.

"There’s nothing to be scared of or anything about Leicestershire we should fear but they did finish second in their group, had some good results and have some dangerous players.

"We are quietly confident but are making no predictions. We know we have a good chance if we play as well as we can."

Charl Langeveldt joins the squad later this week ahead of Saturday’s game while youngster Adam Ball is set to return to the side.

Skipper Rob Key and Joe Denly will also play after recovering from wrist injuries. The pair returned in the championship match between the two sides this week.
