Leon makes his England v Italy prediction

Mystic Mog has forecast the result of England's clash with Italy on Sunday.

But we're not revealing his verdict until much closer to the quarter final - so keep your eye on this site over the weekend.

Leon the pedigree Tonkinese cat, from Canterbury, has so far correctly predicted eight of nine results.

This week has already seen him correctly call the outcomes of England's win over the Ukraine on Tuesday and Thursday's quarter-final, which saw Portugal beat the Czechs 1-0 thanks to a goal from Ronaldo.

Leon picks the result by choosing from a bowl with cat food marked with possible outcomes.

Whichever he eats first, owner Ted Phillips, 45, makes a £5 bet.

What started as a joke after a few beers between Ted and a friend when they could not decide who to bet on now sees them more than £100 up.

So far Leon has only failed once, wrongly predicting a draw between Germany and Holland when Germany went on to win the match.
