A Broadstairs man will appear in court later this month after a teenager was allegedly assaulted at a charity football match.

Patrick Dyett of Oaklands Avenue is charged with the common assault of a 16-year-old boy at St Lukes football ground in Hereson Road, Ramsgate, on Sunday morning.

The youngster was a fourth official on the touchline at a Sunday league season curtain-raiser between Albion Athletic and Birchington United Services Club.

Dyett, 25, will appear before Thanet magistrates on Monday, September 22.
