Man and woman charged after series of Medway gym locker thefts

Lockers were broken into at Medway Park

A man and a woman have been charged in connection with a series of locker thefts at two sports centres in Medway.

Lockers were allegedly targeted while people while were either in the swimming pool or taking exercise classes at Medway Park, in Gillingham.

Damion Lee-Frost, 25, and Lydia Verma, both of Trafalgar Street, Gillingham, were arrested on suspicion of theft on Tuesday and were charged later the same day.

Last week, police revealed they were investing 13 separate thefts from both Medway Park and Strood Leisure Centre.

Detectives say they happened between Sunday, July 8 and Wednesday, August 29.

Lee-Frost has been charged with two counts of theft and one count of production of a class B drug, (cannabis) and Verma has been charged with one count of theft.

Both have been bailed, with conditions, to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, November 13.
