A 34-year-old man has been charged with arson following a blaze at the premises of Aylesford Tyre and Exhaust on the Cottage Industrial Estate at Aylesford on Saturday.

Sean William Lawrence, of Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, who was arrested on Sunday, is due to appear before magistrates at Sevenoaks today.

It took about 30 firefighters more than 24 hours to bring the blaze control.
