Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has already turned his attentions elsewhere after losing the battle to sign Charlton striker Chris Dickson.

The forward opted for a three-month loan move to League 1 rivals Bristol Rovers, after Charlton and the Gills failed to agree a deal, and he scored twice on his debut on Saturday.

The Gills, meanwhile, slumped to a 4-1 defeat at Leeds, where the difference in quality was apparent, and Stimson is keen to now explore other avenues.

"I’m always looking for another striker," said Stimson (pictured). "If we can afford one and can get one in then we will, if not we will make do with what we’ve got.

"We have players across the pitch now who can chip in with their goals and our goals for tally isn’t too bad so far this season."

However, Stimson knows there is little cash at his disposal.

He said: "We have a list but it’s just the finances that I speak about all the time, it’s the most important thing. We need to try and create some money.

"Luis Cumbers went out on loan to Ebbsfleet and that’s released a little bit as well. The chairman is over and I had a brief chat with him and there are one or two targets that we could go for."
