Margate will travel to Aveley in the FA Cup second qualifying round after beating Kent rivals Faversham Town 3-0 in Tuesday night’s replay.

Carl Rook (pictured), whose goal earned the Gate a 2-2 when the sides met on Saturday, opened the scoring at Hartsdown Park with a close-range effort.

The Lilywhites had chances to get back into the tie but Sam Long and Tom Murphy struck after the break to send Chris Kinnear’s side safely through.

In Ryman League Division 1 South, Whitstable Town dropped two points against Horsham as they let a two-goal lead slip at the Belmont.

Former Gillingham midfielder Nicky Southall struck from 35 yards to put the Oystermen 2-0 up after Stuart Vahid’s third-minute goal got the hosts off to a perfect start.

Whitstable manager Justin Luchford, who left Horsham almost a year ago, saw his former club pull a goal back through Darren Lok and the visitors denied Luchford a first win of the season when Rob Gillman put through his own goal.

At Bourne Park, former Sittingbourne manager Richard Brady came back to haunt his old club as Leatherhead moved into the play-off positions with a 1-0 win.

Brady is now in charge of the Surrey side and he included a host of ex-Brickies in his squad. It was Tommy Hutchings who scored the only goal of the game, a minute before half-time, to condemn Sittingbourne to their second defeat in four days.
