Missing Louise: Father in TV appeals

THE case of missing Broadstairs nurse Louise Kerton will be featured twice on national television this week. A significant part of ITV’s Tonight with Trevor Macdonald this evening will be devoted to Louise. She will also be featured on BBC1’s Crimewatch Daily at 10am on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old has not been seen since July 30 when she vanished while visiting her fiancée in Aachen, Germany. Her family and friends have made a number of visits to Germany searching for information, but have had no positive sightings.

Her father Phil admits they now fear the worst. He is particularly concerned about the lack of concern form the German authorities. He said: ”If this was a German woman missing in Canterbury under the same circumstances our system would have been put into action much sooner.

“Unless we can prove Louise is at risk, either due to her own health or another party, the German police are under no obligation to liase with foreign forces. That means that completely false allegations have not been checked against evidence held by Kent police.”

The Kerton family is keen to highlight Louise’s case, to warn other young travellers of the risk involved, even in Europe. Mr Kerton said: "We now expect consistent approaches to most things across Europe, even if not in the more remote parts of the globe visited by young people in "gap years".
